Heaven Up Here (2025 Reissue)

Long out of print, Echo & the Bunnymen are to reissue their first five albums plus their best of, Songs to Learn & Sing, on CD

Heaven Up Here became the band’s first top 10 in the UK charts and their first US chart entry after its release in 1981. Heaven Up Here’s strength is the way in which Bunnymen seamlessly work together to shape each song’s dynamics, even the album’s lone single, A Promise, is hardly light, pop material. The album artwork was shot by frequent collaborator Brian Griffin, on a beach in the South Wales town of Porthcawl and won the Best Dressed LP at the 1981 NME Awards. Seen as a darker album to their debut, the album was well-received by fans and press alike, cementing their cult status in the UK. It won the 1981 NME Best Album award and ranks amongst Rolling Stone’s 500 greatest albums of all time.
